Trip to Mexico - Part II

Most of the second day in Mexico was spent lying on the beach...you can't beat it!
After Brent and Toby arrived, we went out to a wonderful dinner at Villa de la Selva, which had an amazing view, and delicious food.

We had a wonderful time, even though as you can see from this picture, I had already managed to get a bit of a sunburn the first day. It turns out that sunscreen works, but only on the places that you put it on. ;)

We were there for a gorgeous sunset. You can't beat a delicious meal with a view of the sun setting over the ocean.

Trip to Mexico - Part I

We just returned from a wonderful, relaxing trip to Ixtapa, Mexico. We went with my mom, Toby and Karla, staying at my mom's condo. This is the view from the balcony of the condo...beautiful.
Mom, Karla and I flew in on Saturday, while the boys stayed in Oklahoma City to watch the end of the Big 12 tournament, and met up with us on Sunday. We had a nice day with just the girls. Here is mom and Karla at our first night's dinner. We went to mom's traditional first night place - La Hacienda de Ixtapa.

The condos are built on a hill, so they have a gondola ride down to the beach...fun in and of itself.

Here's a pic of mom as we rode down the gondola, heading to a relaxing day on the beach.
More to come...

Front Door, Concrete for the Pool, etc...

It's been a while since I've posted any progress on the house, but this is kind of the slow time. However, here are some of the changes. They put in the front door, which was a splurge that we absolutely love.
We also discovered a feature that we love that we didn't even know about, the inside glass has little latches that you can unhook and open, so that you can let the breeze in. How fun!

They have delivered the brick. You can't really tell from the picture, but this brick is atrocious. It's going to be covered in stucco, but before it is, I'm sure there will be a lot of angry and scared neighbors.

They also have the sheet rock laying around in side. That will be one of the next big transformations to see the walls sheet rocked.

I couldn't get a good pic of the full pool from up on the balcony, but this is most of it. On the right is the spa, raised about 18 inches above the rest of the pool. Then, we have a little tanning deck, then on to the shallow in. You can kind of see on the left, we are having a portion of the pool with a negative edge that will flow over a rock wall on the other side into a basin, and we will have another little patio over there. I can't wait to swim in this thing!

OSU-Baylor Game

Sorry, that it's been so long since my last blog post. I'm going to try to get back into the swing of things.

Last Saturday, we went to the OSU-Baylor men's basketball game. We were in the upper corner...not the best seats, but still an enjoyable place to watch the game.
We went with Toby, Karla, and my dad. We went ahead of time and tried to go to Eskimo Joe's, but it was to busy, so we settled for Hideaway.

(Picture removed...Brent found it to be too unflattering of him. If you didn't see it, you can now imagine the most unflattering picture of Brent possible ;) Poor Brent, it wasn't really that bad.)
Sadly, my Baylor Bears couldn't pull it off, but it was still an enjoyable day.

Top Secret Mission

With the economy in the toilet and oil and gas prices down in the dumps, Brent and I are temporarily out of work. However, when you are self-employed, you are never unemployed....right? Now is time for my dad's joke about being self-unemployed. All that being said, we are doing a little side work for ourselves during the down time (with Karla). The project is top secret, and all I can tell you is it involves a giant pencil.

Saturday Night with the Bowlings

I'm a little behind the ball on my blogging, but we went over to Ursi and Michael's last weekend and had a ton of fun. Here's little Ephraim. Isn't he the cutest thing ever?
We ate burgers and played a board game. It was a ton of fun!

I'm so lucky that my best friend is the coolest person in the world!

Windows and Doors

They have put in all our windows and outside doors, except the front one. The front door is on order, and may go in this week.

We love the back of the house the most. We wanted a lot of windows in this house, and we sure got them.

Brent - enjoying our balcony.

The next step is the roof tiles, which might start as early as this week. Can't wait!
