Trip to Ixtapa

We just got back on Saturday from a week in Ixtapa, Mexico. We went with the kids, my mom, Toby, Karla and Athena, and had a great time! The kids loved the beach. My best friend warned me before we went that the kids would eat the sand, and not to worry about it. She said if I spent the whole week trying to stop them, I'd go crazy. Well, here's a video of Ashley eating sand by the handful. Luckily, she didn't quite eat it like this on most days. And here is Tyler doing what he loved most, playing with the sand toys.

First Haircuts

We got the kids their first haircuts on Wednesday evening. We went to Snip-its...they specialize in kids haircuts, and I'm glad we did.
Things were going pretty well when we first got there. Ashley enjoyed her short wait on the bench.

However, when we went to the chairs, it kind of spooked Tyler, and he started crying. Here is Brent trying to calm him down.

Across the way, Ashley sadly watched her brother and started crying, too. This little picture is so sad, but I love it,

We did end up with cute haircuts, but not many pictures, because of the "ordeal." The kids got prizes of bubbles, which they enjoyed, but when the prize machine started making noise, that was about enough to send Tyler into tears again.

Using Our Own Spoons

The twins love using their own spoons, but mommy doesn't always let them. These pictures will show you why :) We had a little raspberry rice cereal the other morning.

Tyler's Dance Moves

Brent's parents were here the weekend before last, and very kindly babysat the kids while Brent and I went out on Saturday night. While babysitting, they introduced the kids to the Lawrence Welk Show, and apparently the kids are big fans. Here is Tyler showing off some of his dance moves while watching the show. The video is not the best quality, but it still makes me laugh.

Touchdown

Over the holidays, Brent's family taught Tyler and Ashley to say "Touchdown." Here is Ashley as we prepared for the last Vikings game of the season.

P. S. Yes, she is wearing one red shoe. Ashley loves shoes! If she doesn't already have shoes on, if she finds one, she will bring it to you, and insist that you put it on. She particularly loves this pair. Shiny and red, what's not to love?
